Trinity Tidings – May 2022
The gift of God is eternal life
Through Jesus Crist our Lord.
Romans 6:23
From Pastor Ann
My Dear Family in Christ:
Alleluia, Christ is Risen! Yes, we’re in the Great Fifty Days of Easter, even though the weather still feels like Lent. We had a beautiful Easter Sunday service, and even had a little music and singing, thanks to Len & Dawn Gacek. The flowers were beautiful, and I’m so grateful for everyone who bought a plant to contribute to the glorious atmosphere we enjoyed. And so many were here to celebrate in-person worship with us! I hope you will continue to celebrate the Resurrection for the entire fifty days of our festival season (it ends at Pentecost on June 5), even if it’s just a single piece of chocolate each day, or a special Easter prayer at your prayer time. While the secular world is already caught up in the frenzy of Mother’s Day (it’s always the next holiday, isn’t it?), I hope you’ll take this opportunity to appreciate and celebrate one of the few things that sets Christians apart from the larger culture: that we observe the church’s calendar, not the worlds.
This is also a season of Resurrection for Trinity itself: Stitch & Chat has resumed, and the tutoring program that Alyssa Kornacki started during Lent is in full bloom! They’ve had to add time and space, because the demand for this ministry is so great. We’ve re-introduced wine into our Communion service, and when our prepackaged elements have been consumed, we will return to the common cup, as Bishop Sean has now permitted. It still feels like we’re waking up from the pandemic-imposed isolation or hibernation that we experienced for two full years! If you’ve fallen out of the habit of regular church attendance, as so many people have, we hope you’ll come back “home” and join us for Sunday worship.

Altar Guild
Altar Guild would like to thank everyone who helped clean the church for Easter. We also would like to thank everyone for their generous memorials! We had 50 beautiful spring plants. The church looked and smelled wonderful for Easter. Our new vendor Lockwood Nursery worked out great, because we sold 50 plants thy gave us wholesale pricing, thus netting about a $250 profit for altar guild we did not expect. Altar guild is self -funded so this profit will provide communion supplies, candles, dry cleaning etc. The May schedule includes Sara Stoltman and Pat Harder. New members always welcome.
Women of Trinity
Women of Trinity and friends hosted a luncheon at the Olive Tree Restaurant on April 6th. Thirteen people attended and was enjoyed by all. Our Lenten Soup Fundraiser yielded a profit of $490. Our Mother’s Day hanging basket sale is back and was also a success with a $527 profit. Don’t forget to pick up your flowers May 5 from 12-2 or 6-7pm. We are also working on the Granny’s Attic/ Garage Sale May 21 in conjunction with the Village Wide Garage Sale. We will be setting up May 19 and 20th. Volunteers and donations needed. Please plan to join the fun! Thanks to everyone for supporting our fundraisers!
