Trinity Tidings – February 2022
Let your hope keep you joyful,
Be patient in your troubles
And pray at all times.
Romans 12:12
From Pastor Ann
My Dear Family in Christ:
What an annual meeting we had! Great folks, great food, and yes, even great fun! A group of 18 of us gathered in the parish hall, fed by the Women of Trinity (as well as whichever business made that delicious breakfast pizza). We did our business matters, including adopting the scariest, biggest deficit budget that we ever have intentionally made. The Vestry and Treasurer all did our due diligence in cutting cost corners wherever possible, but Trinity has always stepped out in faith that the money would come from somewhere, and it always has. But all who attended are aware that we have to do our part to make the two ends of the budget meet, and that includes working really hard at fundraising ideas (several good ideas have been generated that we’ll be considering, sharing, and developing), working to grow our parish family, and recruiting friends, family members, and organizations to rent our hall for events. We developed a list of priorities for 2022 that included recruitment; developing a pastoral care network, adding music, and increasing internet communications, updated parish directory and outreach. We began to dream a little as a parish, setting out things we’d like to see happen in our corner of the world. My word for the year is “Hope.” I have great hopes for us not just resuming the parish life that we enjoyed before the pandemic closed us down, but for having a deeper, richer life together than ever. I hope you all join me in that hope. Craig shared an inspirational bible verse from Deuteronomy at the meeting today, and I’d like to share another, this from Jeremiah: “I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord: plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you hope, and a future.” You know I preach a lot about the scriptural promises that we share as Christians; that sure sounds like a promise to me! Let’s join together in going forward, believing and delighting in that promise!

Annual meeting
All existing Vestry members as well as the addition of Chris Gregoire and Karen Walczak were elected. Thank you to all of you for stepping up. The 2022 budget was approved. Many good ideas were discussed on how to implement changes to support our 2022 goals.
Also discussed was Bible study. Although it has resumed, we would like more members to be able to take part in this enriching time. This is the part we need YOU to help us with. If you would be sincerely likely to attend if this gathering took place on a different day or time, please let Pastor Ann know. Is a deeper engagement with scripture something you would like to try? How about other topics? Maybe a few sessions on prayer or the contents of our own Book of Common Prayer? Particular Saints or Biblical figures? Some feedback could really help us shape this format to meet your needs in order to enrich your faith life in the best ways possible. Let us hear from you! Please email call or text and let Pastor Ann or the church office know your interests.
