I’m New

New to all this? Here are some FAQs

What is it like?

Trinity is part of the Episcopal Church. We are an inclusive bunch who love to visit, so don’t be surprised to find joyful conversation and even some laughter when you first arrive. You’ll find bulletins and some coloring kits for children in the front lobby (narthex) if you enter the main doors from Broadway.

Sit anywhere. Service animals are welcome. If you need to use the chairlift please ring the bell by the accessible entrance and an usher will assist you. Soak in the beauty of this historic space. Before service begins, the priest will welcome everyone.

Generally, Episcopalians stand to sing, sit to listen and stand or kneel to pray. Please move in the way that fits your body and don’t feel like you have to do something just to fit in. Our service includes both Word (Scripture) and Eucharist (Communion) every week. All baptized Christians are welcome to communion. If you want to receive, just come forward when the usher directs you.

If you’re not baptized, we invite you to come forward anyways and receive a blessing. And if you simply prefer to remain seated and pray, please do.

What about my kids?

We offer Sunday school concurrently with the first part of the service. Our Sunday school includes children from toddlers through middle school. Our high school youth can choose to stay with the adults or help in Sunday school, whatever works for them. Sunday school meets in a room off the parish hall, usually starting right about 9:30 am. Our young people join the congregation for communion, then return downstairs to finish up craft projects and enjoy a snack. Sunday School runs from September through June, with a summer break.

Children are welcome in the church throughout the service. One Sunday a month we have a special Family service with a children’s message. Our young people serve as readers, ushers and sometimes share their musical gifts. We strive to include our children in all our worship. Please don’t hesitate to let them wander if they need to.

How can I get connected?

Speak with an usher when you come. They will offer you a welcome bag with some basic information about the parish. You can fill in a welcome card with your contact details. We’ll reach out and help you find some good points of connection. We have outreach efforts, ministries and learning opportunities for everyone.

Another way to connect is to sign up for our newsletter
