Lent 2026

This season began as a time of preparation for baptism at Easter. This year we will use this time to renew our own commitment to living the good news of Jesus. We’ll take a close look at Jesus’ core teachings and ministry, at what makes Jesus’ message good news. We’ll try to ground ourselves in love of God and neighbor, care for the vulnerable and those on the margins, pursuing justice.

On Ash Wednesday we’re invited to enter into a holy Lent through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. To help you do this, we’re offering opportunities and resources for you to choose from. Pick what works for you.
For prayer try the daily prayer cards or weekly devotional from A Sanctified Art on the theme

Every Thursday we will gather at 8 pm on the Trinity Facebook page for a short service of compline, using readings from one of our Lenten resources. Please join us.
Want to develop some new spiritual practices? Sign up for the Holy Habits devotional. Or try a reflecting on a word each day, using this calendar. We’ll be posting the daily word on our Facebook page every morning, along with an invitation to share photos prompted by the daily word.

For fasting we invite you to follow the invitation of Pope Leo XIV to fast“from words that offend and hurt our neighbor. Let us begin by disarming our language, avoiding harsh words and rash judgement, refraining from slander and speaking ill of those who are not present”
For almsgiving, we are donating items not covered by SNAP for our siblings who come to Trinity Pantry. See the list below for what to bring when.

Whatever you choose, may it root you deeply in the good news of Jesus who gathers us all around one great table.
