TrinityTidings-February2026
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God
(Micah 6:8)
My dear siblings in Christ,
For the last several weeks the news has been painful. Many of us have heard reports or seen videos of things we never expected to happen in our country. Our hearts and our faith cry out for us to respond, to take actions towards justice.
It’s a good time for Lent. These six weeks before Easter began as a time of preparation for baptism at Easter. This year we will use them to renew our own commitment to living the good news of Jesus. We’ll take a close look at Jesus’ core teachings and ministry, at what makes Jesus’ message good news. We’ll try to ground ourselves in love of God and neighbor, care for the vulnerable and those on the margins, pursuing justice. As we discussed in our annual meeting, we will take steps to build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live.
As followers of Jesus, we will pray and we will act. Our communal prayer strengthens our faith in the one who is Love incarnate, so we can take loving actions, both as individuals and as a community. Throughout this newsletter you’ll find information about ways you can join in prayer and about actions you can take. Each of us must do what we can, grounded in the expansive goodness of God make flesh in Jesus. Because God’s good news is extravagant, persistent, joyful, living and active. May that good news inspire us to take action; to be bold in sharing God’s radical love in a world that’s desperately in need of good news.
Peace and all good,
Karen+
