Trinity Tidings – October 2025

Tell out my soul, the greatness of the Lord!

1982 Hymnal #438. Based on Luke 1:4

We’ve all experienced God’s goodness. It may have come through the kindness of a friend or co-worker, the compassion of a healthcare provider, the generosity of a neighbor.  Each and every one of us has a story to tell of when we were lifted up or saw someone else being lifted up.

As a parish family, we tell out God’s goodness with our lips and with our lives. We proclaim God’s goodness as we grow vegetables or sort food for the Pantry, as we care for the altar and the church building and grounds entrusted to us, as we go out to serve and speak with our neighbors. I heard so many stories at our first community concert of how people have been touched over the years by the mission and ministry of God’s people at Trinity.

October brings the start of our stewardship campaign. Our 2025 theme is Tell Out My Soul. Over the next weeks we’ll be telling the story of how God’s goodness is made known through the people of Trinity, through the mission and ministry your pledge dollars support. Do you have a story to tell? Please let me know.

Stewardship is about more than money. Stewardship includes all the ways we give thanks to God for the gifts of our lives, all the ways we tell out God’s goodness. We express our thanks in many ways – by decorating our harvest altar, by rejoicing in the love of companion animals at our Pet Blessing on Oct. 4th, by enjoying the beauty of Fall during our Akron Acres trip on Oct. 19th.  However you proclaim the wonder of God’s abundant love, I pray this month may bring you ample opportunities.

I hope you will join one of the Holy Conversations sessions happening across our diocese – about who God is calling us to be as a Diocese and what we need in a Bishop to lead us into that future. Those near us are Oct. 18 at St. Paul’s, Lewiston, Oct. 21 at St. Matthias, East Aurora and Oct. 28 at Good Shepherd, Buffalo. Times are posted in the parish hall.

Peace and all good,  Karen

Please feel free to add to our fall harvest altar. Pumpkins, gourds, mums all are welcome.  If you wish to request flowers or the sanctuary candle for memorials or thanksgivings, forms are available in the narthex. October schedule includes Bev and Pat. New members always welcome.

Women of Trinity

Our annual Snowflake Bazaar will be held November 8. Please save the date we will need everyone’s help as this is our biggest fundraiser.  This event includes a bake sale, a basket raffle, a soup/ lunch sale, a craft sale and a rummage sale (Granny’s Attic.)  Currently we are accepting clean gently used donations for Granny’s Attic. We are also looking for donations to our basket raffle. Gift cards to anyplace are always a big hit, i.e.  Tops, Wegmans, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Target, Kohl’s etc. Also very popular are scratch off lottery tickets. Please leave these donations in the counting room. Sign-up sheets for soup ingredients will be posted on bulletin board as well as sign up for volunteers to work. Please consider donating a couple of hours. There is a way for everyone to help make this bazaar our best one ever. Many hands make light work.

WOT and friends next luncheon is at noon October 7 at Hillview Restaurant on Transit.

 Outreach Opportunities

$340.92 was deposited in our account from St. Pauly in September, great job! Please pass the word, about the St. Pauly’s Shed in the parking lot. It’s a win- win situation, people in need get clothing, blankets etc.  and church gets paid by the pound for donations. Thanks

Food Pantry always appreciates any donation you can share. There is a basket upstairs in the church and a drop off bin located outside the kitchen door.

Dash’s Receipts

Please continue to save your Dash market receipts and ask your friends for theirs. There is box located downstairs in the parish hall or put them on table in the front of the church. This is a great program; we receive cash for your receipts! Thank you!
