Trinity Tidings – June 2025

God’s love has been poured into our hearts through

the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Rom. 5:5

June brings us an abundance of ways to rejoice in the gifts of the Spirit. We rejoice in blooming flowers and growing grass. We care for the little portion of creation we share in common, as we clean up the church grounds on June 1st.

We’ll be celebrating our shared life at Trinity on Trinity Sunday June 15, and asking you to share what’s important to you in our shared life, and what you hope for as we continue to grow in our love of God and neighbor.

June also brings us celebrations of many kinds, the end of school, the start of summer and Pride. For half a century, Episcopalians have been working toward a greater understanding and radical inclusion of all God’s children. Resolutions from General Convention from 1976 through 1994 moved us towards more inclusion of LGBTQ people in all the rites and worship of the church. In 2015, General Convention voted to amend the canons that regulate marriage, permitting any couple the rite of holy matrimony. In June 2023, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry issued a video message of encouragement to “all of my LGBTQ+ family members,” noting, “I believe deep in my soul that God is always seeking to create a world and a society where all are loved, where justice is done, and where the God-given equality of us all is honored in our relationships, in our social arrangements, and in law.” Last year, the Episcopal Church released a Pride Shield for churchwide use. The shield retains the upper-left blue corner of The Episcopal Church’s shield logo and incorporates elements of the several Pride flags. It’s featured on our How can you fit into our small parish? flyers as a small visual sign of welcome and inclusion. This month, may God’s Spirit strengthen us to share the message that everyone is God’s beloved child.

The Lancaster Youth Bureau has reached out and asked us to collect school supplies and small denomination gift cards to Walmart and Target for them over the summer. They will  be used to purchase specific school supplies requested for the 2025-26 school year.  We will share more details as we receive them. We will have a collection bin in the parish hall and back of church.  Help if you are able. Thank you!

United Thank Offering

Don’t forget our UTO ingathering will be Trinity Sunday June 15, 2025. Each of us have things for which we’re grateful. The United Thank Offering (UTO), is a long-standing ministry of The Episcopal Church which offers us a way to share our gratitude. 100% of donations are distributed to support ministries focused on justice and bridging divides.

Dash’s Receipts

Please continue to save your Dash market receipts and ask your friends for theirs. There is box located downstairs in the parish hall or put them on table in the front of the church. This is a great program; we receive cash for your receipts! Thank you!
