Trinity Tidings – October 2024
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, as Christ loved us, and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice for God.
My beloved siblings in Christ,
Our seasons continue to turn. This month we wrap up the Season of Creation with a pet blessing on 10/3 @ 6:30 pm and our Songfest Social on 10/5 at 5 pm. I’m hoping to see you at one or both of these, and encourage you to bring a friend, maybe someone who’s not sure about church but loves animals, music, or simply a fun meal with friends.
This month I invite you to reflect on generosity. When have you offered generosity to others? When have you been the recipient of a generous gift of time, talent or treasure from someone else? Generosity changes us – when we receive and when we give. Generosity is a practice we learn and grow in all through our lives. It’s not easy to give up our precious time or to give away the funds we worked hard to get. It takes something as radical as Love, to inspire us. As a community we learn to walk in that Love together.
As we’ve listened to the Gospel of Mark this year, we’ve heard Jesus walking in love with those who are poor, sick, marginalized. Jesus calls us all to take that journey with him. This past year I’ve seen this community walk in love by feeding our neighbors, caring for the poor, supporting those who are ill, gathering to pray, learn and grow. This year as our Stewardship Campaign begins, we’ll be sharing stories of how we Walk in Love here at Trinity. And we’ll be looking ahead to how we want to grow – in love and in our shared ministry.
Beginning this month, I’ll be sharing a brief weekly reflection with you. They’ll be available by email, on our website and a few printed copies will also be in the parish hall. I also want to let you know I’m ending my weekly evening office hours due to lack of demand. Going forward I’ll be in the office Tuesday from 11-1. I’m happy to meet you after work, just reach out and we’ll find a time.
Peace,
Karen+

Our annual Snowflake Bazaar will be held November 9. Please save the date we will need everyone’s help as this is our biggest fundraiser. This event includes a bake sale, a basket raffle, a soup/ lunch sale, a craft sale and a rummage sale (Granny’s Attic.) Currently we are accepting clean gently used donations for Granny’s Attic. We are also looking for donations to our basket raffle. Gift cards to anyplace are always a big hit, i.e. Tops, Wegmans, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Target, Kohl’s etc. Also very popular are scratch off lottery tickets. Please leave these donations in the counting room. Sign-up sheets for soup ingredients will be posted on bulletin board as well as sign up for volunteers to work. Please consider donating a couple of hours. There is a way for everyone to help make this bazaar our best one ever. Many hands make light work.
