Trinity Tidings – June 2023
“From the rising of the sun to it’s going down
The Lord’s name is to be praised”
Psalm 113:3
Fellow Parishioners:
May has been a very busy month for Trinity. We held our annual Mother’s Day plant sale, which was a success thanks to all of you, and especially Dale Fehringer who takes orders at work that help boost our sales.
On May 13, as an outreach project, we provided lunch for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive volunteers. The food drive was an overwhelming success, thanks to Lancaster’s generosity. Take a peek in the undercroft, it is unbelievable the amount of food collected.
May 20th, we held a Book, Bake and Hot Dog Sale. Again, thanks to the hard work of our faithful volunteers, it was a success despite the pouring rain. Karen and Dan Walczak braved the weather and stood outside under the tent cooking hotdogs. Thanks to everyone, who baked, donated books and shopped and of course worked the event. Also, a special thank you to Melisse and Karen for making wonderful Trinity window bookmarks. If you didn’t get one there are some available in back of church, please help yourself.
You may have noticed the flower bed under kitchen window has been cleared by Dan Walczak in preparation for Mary Rose’s Girl Scout Troop to plant an herb garden. Good things continue to happen at Trinity through volunteers!
Trinity continues in our search for a permanent priest, under the direction of Rev Jason Shank from the diocese. The diocese is exploring a clergy person for us. We will keep you updated as we receive information. We continue to enjoy Fr. Terry Bull and his wife Candi while they are with us at Trinity.
There will be no newsletter for July and August, but we will be here every Sunday all thru summer. The newsletter will resume in September.
Happy Father’s Day to all our dad’s! Have a Happy and Safe Summer

Sunday School
Sunday School meets during the 9:30 am service Sunday mornings. All are welcome, please join us. The last day of Sunday School before summer break is June 18. We owe a huge thank you to Julia Tomaka and Carrie Kornacki, they did an outstanding job this year. Some of their accomplishments include growing the Sunday School and offering an Instructed Eucharist and Confirmation class. The children were invited to sing for Christmas and Easter. Julia and Carrie made sure Sundays were always covered despite busy family and school schedules. Well done!
Vestry Summary
The vestry met May 21 ,2023. Vestry decided to pass on the chicken BBQ this year. We will revisit the option for next year. We have had three successful fundraisers already this year. Vestry is also exploring the option of perhaps hiring someone to do some of the grounds clean up. They are also looking for estimates on some concrete foundation repairs. If you know someone who does this kind of work, please let us know. Vestry will not meet for June or July unless there is a special need.

Outreach
Trinity Food Pantry’s mailing address is PO Box 467, Lancaster, NY 14086. There is a drop
box located outside the church for your convenience and a basket at the front of church for donations.
If you’re cleaning out your closets don’t forget the St. Pauly’s Shed in the parking lot for your used clothing donations. People in need get the clothes, and Trinity gets paid by the pound for donations, it’s a Win-Win. Thank you!!
