Trinity Tidings – May 2023
“God raised the Lord from death,
And he will also raise us by his power.”
Fellow Parishioners:
The Lord has risen and spring has sprung! We hope you are enjoying the spring bulbs in bloom around the church grounds. We will be holding a spring clean up day to tidy up the church grounds soon.
Trinity continues in our search for a permanent priest, under the direction of Rev Jason Shank from the diocese. We are enjoying Fr. Terry Bull while he is here with us at Trinity. Fr. Terry continues to lead us in worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30am. Come celebrate the Risen Lord with us.
The National Day of Prayer is May 4,2023. It was signed into law in 1952 by President Harry Truman. It is a day when people of all faiths are asked to pray for our country. If you wish to join others in this year’s National Day of Prayer you can from 12:00-12:45 in front of the Lancaster Town Hall at 21 Central Avenue or from 7:00-8:00pm at Lancaster Presbyterian Church, 5641 Broadway.
Many things are happening at Trinity this month. Mother’s Day Basket pick up is May 11th for those of you who ordered plants. The Stamp Out Hunger postal worker food drive is May 13. Please put your donations by your mailbox, they will be brought to the Trinity Food Pantry. Also, May 20th we will hold a book, baked goods and hot dog sale.

Vestry Summary
The vestry met April 16,2023. The active membership list is now updated. Rev. Jason Shank has been contacted to advise us on next steps in our clergy search. Fundraisers discussed include the Hotdog/bake/Book sale and a chicken BBQ. We have reached out to the Boys and Girls Club for their input as we have done the chicken BBQ as a joint project in the past. On going business in progress includes by-laws, updating records and LEARN. The next vestry meeting May 21.

Outreach
Trinity Food Pantry’s mailing address is PO Box 467, Lancaster, NY 14086. There is a drop box located outside the church for your convenience and a basket at the front of church for donations.
If you’re cleaning out your closets don’t forget the St. Pauly’s Shed in the parking lot for your used clothing donations. People in need get the clothes, and Trinity gets paid by the pound for donations, it’s a Win-Win. Thank you!!
