Trinity Tidings – February 2023

“You are my refuge and my shield;

I have put my hope in your word.”

Psalm 119:114

My Dear Family in Christ:

I want to update you about the change in my status here at Trinity.  Life is all about unexpected change, isn’t it? My recent broken collarbone, combined with an expected update to my Letter of Agreement with Trinity led me to a time of discernment, in which I realized that I don’t have the strength and energy that I had when I came to you even 5 years ago.  I can’t really provide the all-around parish leadership that you want and so richly deserve.  Yes, I’m admitting that age can lead to fewer personal resources!  So, I decided that I should step down as your priest-in-charge.  I have offered, and the vestry has accepted my offer to serve as your long-term supply priest, while you are now free to search for that priest who can be all that you want and need.  I will be free to use my best priestly gifts, which are leading worship and preaching, as well as my Sunday afternoon service at Canterbury Woods.

For most of you, this won’t look much different.  I will still be here with you every Sunday, and I will still be here to do the Stitch & Chat Eucharist on the last Tuesday of every month. I will also be available for funerals and special services.  What’s different is that I won’t be keeping regular office hours, doing administrative tasks or attending vestry or parish meetings.

What will I be doing with my time?  I hope to write more.  I hope to spend more time at my trailer by the lake in the spring, summer, and fall.  I hope to travel more, including visits to my family and friends in the Midwest.  I may expand my small spiritual direction practice (I was trained in 2008, and have seen a few people regularly for spiritual guidance).  And who knows what else the future may hold?  But I hope we will have some time remaining to worship and learn together.  Please know that you remain in my heart and my prayers.

                                                                                                            In Christ’s Love,

                                                                                                                                       Ann+

Annual meeting

The annual meeting originally scheduled for January 15 was held January 29th.  Reports were presented from the Priest, Warden, Audit, Altar Guild, Sunday School, Women of Trinity, Food Pantry, and LEARN. The 2023 budget was approved.

 Craig Kornacki and Dennis Noonan announced they both are stepping down from vestry. Craig shared he has been a member of vestry for 10 years and has recently accepted a job promotion and would like more time with family. We want to thank them both for their faithful service.
