Trinity Tidings – October 2022
“So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search and you will find;
knock, and the door will be opened for you.
Luke11:9
From Pastor Ann
My Dear Family in Christ:
Well, fall has truly come, with its shorter days, longer nights, cooler temperatures. We mostly welcome it, except for knowing what comes very soon after: our long, cold winter. And Trinity is rolling out its fall calendar as well, with tutoring, an additional Girl Scout troop, Confirmation/Inquirers’ classes, and a 2-session teaching for the younger kids about the Eucharist. Most of them are already receiving Communion with us, but we want to do some teaching about what those “little white cookies, dipped in wine” really mean. Please see inside for more information about these things. The Snowflake Bazaar planning is going full steam ahead, and we need workers! So if you can give us even a couple of hours on Saturday, November 12, be sure to talk to one of the Women of Trinity, or look for the sign up sheets that we’ll be posting! This month, on October 8, we will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis (lover of the natural world, and especially animals) by blessing pets. I have blessed almost every kind of animal (no bugs yet, but I’m open to it), so bring your beasties on Saturday the 8th, and we’ll get some holy water on them, and pray for all of you!
Before you know it, Advent will be upon us, and then the Bishop’s visit on December 18! I know that for most of us, our fall schedules have started: educational, cultural, whatever. I hope it isn’t overwhelming, after a relatively leisurely summer. But my prayer for you this month is that you can take time for church (of course!), and to enjoy the blessings of this beautiful season. And unless you’re a skier, try not to think about winter!

Sundays 9:30 am – Holy Communion Service and Sunday School
Tuesday 10 am – Stitch and Chat
Thursdays 4 pm Healing Eucharist followed by bible study.
On Thursdays at 4 pm we begin with a service of Holy Eucharist and Healing that takes about a half hour. This is a small and intimate service, where we pray and receive anointing for those loved ones that are particularly in our hearts that week. After the Eucharist, we continue to study the Gospel of Matthew, which will be our primary Gospel resource in worship for the coming Liturgical year. Bible Study lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, and we are using a printed resource this year: “The Gospel of Matthew: God With Us,” published by Kerygma.
