In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep,
and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Genesis 1:1-2
Dear siblings in Christ,
The breath of God, which moved over the waters at creation is stirring up all kinds of new life here at Trinity.
Saturday May 11th is the annual Stamp out Hunger food drive and luncheon for volunteers at the Trinity Pantry. This is one way we can be Christ’s hands serving our neighbors. Please join me in giving some of your time for this important event.
Sunday May 19th we will celebrate Pentecost with exuberance, including a baptism. So far, we have volunteers to join in reading the gospel in German and French. If you are able to add another language, please let me know. Don’t forget to wear red! The vestry and I will head out for a short retreat and planning day, after service on the 19th. We ask your prayers for the Spirit’s guidance for our time together.
We’ll round out the month with a festive celebration of Trinity Sunday on May 26th, which will include some special music and reflections on what it means to be part of a community whose “patron” is the Holy Trinity. After service this day, we’ll process outside to bless our community garden.
I hope you’re noticing the Spirit’s movement in your own life too. I look forward to celebrating her work with you as the month unfolds.
Peace and all good,
Karen+

WOT Shoe Drive is wrapping up. The countdown is on, we have until May 18 to finish collecting shoes. We are only 25 bags away from reaching our 100-bag goal thanks to all of you and the community, but we still need your help. We have until May 18 to finish collecting shoes and we need EVERYONE to help to get those last 25 bags! We are collecting new and gently used shoes. Men’s, women’s, kids, dress, sneakers flip flops everything but roller blades and ice skates. Only shoes that could be reused, no shoes that are wet, moldy or have holes. We are really excited about this. Our goal is to make $1000.00. Can you help us reach our goal?
WOT will host a luncheon for Stamp Out Hunger volunteers on Saturday May 11. We will begin preparing lunch in the parish hall at 10am, then we will stay to help sort foods collected. Cookies and brownies wanted for desserts. Can’t join us, no worries show your support by leaving a donation by your mailbox. Thank you.
WOT will hold a luncheon/meeting June 5 at Hillview Restaurant on Transit Rd at noon. Mark your calendars, hope to see you there.
WOT will not be holding our plant sale this year. The nursery we used is Weeks Nursery, 5955 Shimmerville Rd., Clarence. They are open from 8-8 M-F and 8-6 Sat & Sun. Baskets are $25 each. Say hi to Tom from his friends at Trinity if you stop in.
